Weaning & Waiting
The tables are laid
colourful, delicious delicacies
oozing hypnotic fragrance
beckon the beautiful birds
bound by the habit of pecking at dirt
with a narrow vision seeking familiar food
at the familiar spot in the same old way.
To wean them away from the age old habit and
to aid the process of change, the old spots are washed clean
the place is covered with pots and leaves to block a retreat
and give a new look to the familiar haunt
The new place is highlighted with sticks to perch on
and move towards the tasty treat comfortably.
Nothing more can be done except patiently wait
till some brave explorer tastes the first peck
of a cleaner, healthier, tastier food
and returns to form a new habit.
The followers of the explorer are in for a treat
And have nothing to fear as the higher location
is beyond the reach of cats and dogs.
A superior happiness is waiting for me
Beyond this world!
My Guru has blocked all other channels
and is waiting for me to take the leap
from where I am to where I could be.
When will my mind give up old haunts
and develop a taste for the eternal bliss?
